Tomorrow, July 7, 2024, marks nine months since October 7th. Pregnancy lasts nine months, and in Judaism, it's referred to as "nine moons of birth" (nine months of gestation). I decided to present a baby because everyone around me is talking about the possibility that the female hostages are childbearing rape victims. However, in my live installation the baby does not symbolize this pessimistic and dystopic notion. For me, the baby doll I brought as a live installation symbolizes a new beginning. I chose to show my optimistic side and demonstrate to everyone that I believe this is almost over and something new is about to begin and be born. Although many people are tired and find it hard to continue fighting, I sense the energies of an awakening and new beginnings emerging from all this chaos.
